Lisa Chioffi
By day, I manage money for children with special needs trusts. By night, I become a struggling cook, grateful wife, and hockey mom. In those little spaces in between, I take pictures and edit my photography.
My photographs are meant to be editorial and viewed as part of a group. A storytelling. I enjoy editing and presenting a collection as much as working on the individual images. I am compelled by both the message and the aesthetics. The subject matter I choose reflects places or cultures of interest to me, my attraction to flowers and landscapes, land use issues, visual irony, or my desire to promote organic agriculture and compassion for animals. With my 2012 project, I share my experimentation with three photographic subjects: Nature,Texture, and Architecture. These three elements come together in my visual documentary of Hartsel Springs Ranch in Colorado featured on my website. Hartsel is one of many U.S. ranches in the process of reinventing itself using agri-tourism for financial survival.
